What is Student Affairs? It is one of the major divisions
of the UC Santa Cruz campus, with oversight of all issues and
resources related to student life. Student Affairs is a cluster
of units designed and devoted to serve all students, and to
make sure that the learning and living environment on campus
is conducive to attaining your academic goals. For students,
that means the basics like getting financial aid, housing,
health services, and possibly a job from the career center.
But it also includes efforts to make every student feel important
within the campus community. We offer many support services
for students, including specialized support for re-entry students,
and students with disabilities. Additionally, Student Affairs
has student outreach programs in schools from the elementary
school level to the community college level which help increase
the pool of minority and low-income students who are academically
qualified to attend UC.
Who is Student Affairs? We are a group of professional
staff committed to diversity, and always to excellence. We
work diligently to ensure student success, especially in regard
to retention and graduation. We are knowledgeable about the
changing needs and backgrounds of the students of the future,
and seek to use emerging technologies to serve you better.
We encourage you to visit the Student Affairs Division's web
pages to learn more about who we are and what we do.
