Leadership Development & Social Responsibility

The Institute for Leadership Development and Social Responsibility strives to engage UCSC students in university-wide learning opportunities centered on the development of leadership and character building skills. This comprehensive approach to developing the student as citizen is designed to integrate the university's academic mission with issues of; critical thinking, decision-making, civic responsibility, ethics, socialization, integrity, spirituality, and community.

Civic engagement, community service, and leadership are the components that guide all programs and opportunities provided by the Institute.

Learning Support Services

Learning Support Services (LSS) offers 2 major programs to all UCSC undergraduate students, Modified Supplemental Instruction (MSI) and Tutoring. Modified Supplemental Instruction (MSI), peer guided learning groups are attached to selected lower and upper division courses. Content related tutoring is available in all subject areas, as is extensive writing tutoring.
