Student Health Services, located in the Cowell Student Health Center, is staffed by physicians, nurses, and technicians and provides medical care for acute and chronic illness and injury. The facilities include a clinical laboratory, diagnostic X-ray service, and pharmacy. Free psychiatric services are available, and a dental clinic provides preventive and urgent care on a fee-for-service basis.
Health services are partially supported by the university registration fee, and many services are provided at no additional cost to all registered students regardless of whether they purchase campus insurance or are privately insured.

Student Health Services also sponsors several programs to foster promotion of health, safety, and health education including Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Education, the HIV Prevention Program, and Rape Prevention Education.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) provides the services of counseling psychologists to help students clarify their sense of direction, set realistic goals, and better understand their personal problems.
CPS offers a variety of counseling services for personal, academic, social, or family concerns. These counseling services include: individual or personal counseling, group counseling, couples and family counseling, crisis counseling, and behavioral stress reduction services.
